Fishing: Catch Limits

Channel Catfish: No minimum size, daily catch limit of 5.
Bluegill: No minimum size, daily catch limit of 15.
Crappie: No minimum size, daily catch limit of 15.
Redear Sunfish: No minimum size, daily catch limit of 10.
Bass: Over 14 in. catch and release only. 14 in. and under, daily catch limit of 5.
Warmouth and Yellow Bull Head: When caught please remove. Do not put back in the lake.

Members may host guests for fishing as long as the member is present with their guest. 

Please be prepared to present a picture ID, such as your Driver’s License, for proof of membership.

Other Rentals:

Rental Procedure:
1) Tipton Lakes Community Association offers several amenities to our members for their next gathering or meeting. Reserve these by calling the Association Office at (812) 342-8522 or Marina at (812) 342-6423 and check the calendar for availability. If your date is available, your reservation will be held for one week, pending receipt of your deposit.

2) Stop by the Association Office and pay your deposit and sign for responsibility in the reservation book. Receipt of the deposit and your signature guarantees your reservation.

  • Reservations are first-come, first-served.
  • Facility reservations will not be available for major holidays.
  • Reservations may be canceled for a full refund up to one week in advance.
  • Restroom and other areas of the Marina may be used by other Members (the lake, boats, volleyball court and the surrounding areas) during the rental period.
  • If alcohol is to be served during the rental, a $500,000 insurance waiver is required for the date of the rental.
  • Overflow parking for Marina reserved events should be along Tipton Lakes Blvd., not along secondary residential streets.

Facility rentals include exclusive use of the following:

Gathering Room

  • The meeting room contains a kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave, and sink.
  • Six (6) six-foot long tables with 40 chairs.
  • The maximum capacity is 40 people.

Lakeside Beach/Picnic Area

  • Sand beach with picnic tables and grills

Overlook Picnic Area

  • Four (4) picnic tables and charcoal grill in a wooded park-like setting.

The facility rental cost is $150 for the day, 9:00am- 1 0:00pm. All deposits/ rental fees must be paid by cash or check only.

Facility rental also requires a $50 deposit. When the cleaning checklist is returned and upon verification that the area was left as found, the deposit will be refunded. If alcohol is served during the rental, a $500,000 insurance binder is required for date of the rental.

** Facility rentals are available to Tipton residents and their guests, but all reservations and payments must be made by the Tipton resident, and they must be present for the duration of the rental.

Liability Statement for Tipton Lakes

The Tipton Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc. (“Association”) hereby notifies all members of Tipton Lakes that any resident, member, member’s family, or guest/invitee assumes full and complete responsibility for, and shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Association, its officers, directors, agents and any other members from and against any and all demands, claims, damages to persons or property (including sickness, bodily injury, and death), losses and liabilities, including attorneys fees and costs, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Association’s common areas or common amenities, including, without limitation, the lake. This obligation of indemnity includes, but is not limited to, injuries caused by a defect in the Association’s common areas or amenities, or by any act or omission or negligence by the Association or its directors as associated with the use of the Association’s common areas or common amenities. Members and residents, as well as their families and guests, understand that the use of the Association’s common areas and amenities is at their own risk and that they wholly assume any risk of harm, injury, or death associated with the use of such property.
